This video is hilarious. As a sidenote, it is part of Smirnoff's new ad campaign for "Raw Iced-Tea" found on YouTube. The fact that this ad is being distributed on YouTube made it into an article in the WSJ, praising the innovativeness of Smirnoff to use YouTube as a means of advertising.

Smirnoff is very wise in deciding to use YouTube as a means of advertising. It would be an easy, cheap way to distribute the advertising to a large group of people. I am surprised that no one really has thought about doing that before - do you know if there are any other companies who have chosen to do this? While you do have to consider the idea that it definitely does not make the company seem like an elite brand (which smirnoff would not be very concerned with), it seems like a company would have thought about this before...
companies have utilized viral video for some time. vml, inc. an ad agency based in kansas city, used viral video to promote the sprint powervision phone & similarly developed viral videos for burger king... some successful; some not.
