Bid News in the Supreme Court - 2nd Amendment Rights

I'm not sure what the gun laws in SC are exactly, but I would imagine that super strict gun laws are, in fact, in violation of the 2nd amendment. The second amendment prohibits infringement on the people's right to keep and bear arms, and so one would imagine that any laws that hinder one's right to such would be in violation of the constitutional amendment. I'm sure those in defense of the SC laws will cite statistics in which the number of gun-related homicides has gone down with the enactment of their strict laws (as the graph on this post indicate), but ultimately it is individual responsibility that is of importance when owning a gun. The government (local or federal) shouldn't be able to attempt to replace personal responsibility by enacting laws all over the place to prevent certain behaviors. It will be very interesting to see how this case plays out...
