The Truth About "Fahrenheit 9/11"
Fox News writes a surprisingly concise article outlining five significant falacies in Michael Moore's new film. Fox uses factual statements and statistics to bring us the truth behind Moore's controversial film. As for me, I don't mind documentaries charged with political motivations, no matter what party or candidate they support or criticize. My problem is when these documentaries are not factually accurate. Moore established a pattern of distorting the facts in "Bowling for Columbine," and has done nothing to alter his behavior yet. How much better and more appreciated do you think "Fahrenheit 9/11" would be if it could boast at being 100% truthful?
Hillary Knows Best
"We're going to take things away from you on behalf of the common good." So says senator Hillary Clinton at a Democratic fundraiser in San Francisco on Monday (06/28/04). This general mentality seems to embody the exact opposite values which America was founded upon. Why does Hillary think she knows what is best for me?? How about she and the rest of them in Washington leave us alone, and stop pretending they know how to make the everyday citizen better off, when instead they are really taking away our liberties and freedoms.

This article is a terrific commentary on Michael Moore and his highly controversial Fahrenheit 911. In it, Christopher Hitchens details the many falacies which Moore continues to assert. Hitchens categorically rebuffs the central ideas and themes of Fahrenheit 911. Enjoy!

The only real purpose of The Mint Julep is for interesting thoughts and commentary to be expressed, and perhaps to facilitate some sort of interchange of ideas. Discussion and interaction are therefore encouraged, as are any suggestions or tips. I hope that you enjoy the all that the Mint Julep brings to you.
